DanForce G1- The World's First Modular Flashlight Kit

I do not have it. So it is going terribly.

I was given a G1 as a gift. Very impressed until the orange On/Off button quit working after 3 months. Support sent me a replacement. Same thing. After about 30 On/Off cycles the button broke. When it works it’s great.

Been super happy with my G1 PRO until the tail cap switch went out and Dan Force doesn't offer replacement parts. Now it's just a memory of an awesome light.

This is my second unit. Unfortunately I dropped my first one which created a terminal problem. If I didn’t like the unit I would not have ordered a second one.

I have worn this model light almost every day for the last 5 years before the GREAT BATTERY UPGRADE of 2023. The version I used prior to the "Battery Pack Upgrade" has 2 rechargeable 18650 3.7V, 2200mAh lithium-ion batteries. I could run the light continuous at my shop as my main and only lighting tool for 10 to 12 hour shift with little off time. I am a vehicle and diesel shop owner, I use this light alot. Could change out batteries from the charger and continue working without interruption. NOW with the new "BATTERY UPGRADE" I find myself waiting 4 to 6 hours for a recharge without access to the >>"NEW AND IMPROVED,NO ACCESS BATTERY PACK" that does not! last 8 hours, more like 4 to 5 of crisp lighting. The previous model was brighter, lasted longer and was 18650 battery accessible. MADE FOR THE WORKING FORCE! The new version is no slouch, it has a better focal point of main light at its tightest setting, but not by very much is the only pro over the older version. INCONCLUSIONS > Here is another company that values a better bottom line rather than "QUALITY" and tries to sell it as an "UPGRADE". I used this light since Dec 9 2023 to Jan 14 2024 before writing this, so it wasn't an unbox and review, I used it hard. I will continue to use this one as a backup and take better care of my older ones, but look for another light company to buy from. It's a shame as I have a lot of local shops that I have gotten to use this light, BUTTTT...The new light is great for checking on a noise outside or going to you favorite deer stand, or DIY projects etc... just not heavy usage professionally unless you have a charge time on the bid. I bought this flashlight on kickstarter a while back. Since I had plenty of lights at the time I set it aside and soon forgot about. I found it a few months ago and decided to charge it up. Really like the flashlight with modular components. Good battery life and very bright light. You do have to be sure not to drop on a hard surface like asphalt or concrete. I did that with mine and it was rendered totally useless, it a pretty pricey flashlight to lose after one drop. Of course it was out of warranty.

This company is simply AMAZING! We purchased their boxed set of 2 flashlights (a small single cell and a larger two cell model) two years ago, mainly to use while we were camping. Both produced exceptionally bright lighting and extraordinary battery runtime between recharges. They were especially useful when setting up our motorhome after arriving in the dark and for then walking our dogs in unfamiliar campgrounds. However on this past winter camping trip the larger 2 battery model began "shutting down" after just a short use time and we put it away in our kitchen junk drawer. In preparation for an upcoming two month RV journey I pulled it out of the drawer to see it if it had "corrected" itself. It had not. Since it comes with a 7 year warranty I sent an e-mail to their service department and got an IMMEDIATE response. They asked if I had the original receipt (since I never actually registered the product with them) and I e-mailed them the Amazon purchase info. Another IMMEDIATE response saying that they were going to send me a replacement. That communication occurred on a Friday. That SUNDAY a package arrived with another complete boxed set of TWO of their newer models! Who does that??? Now we have a total of 3 of their fabulous flashlights. Two that will be kept in our RV and one for use at home. To say that this company is customer friendly is a vast understatement. Not only do they distribute a quality product, they will stand behind that product 200%. I am completely happy with their flashlights and ecstatic about their customer service!

I originally purchased my first G1 on Kickstarter. I couldn’t have been more impressed. Since then I have purchased 4 more as gifts or to have around the house and In my vehicles. If this kit does not meet your needs you are simply not using it right. This modular flashlight can be anything you want it to be !

Well I mounted mine on my gun the only problem I had was the pressure switch would really like to have the switch incased in an aluminum housing to protect it from getting damage overall its a great flashlight

It's a nice flashlight. Unlike the G1 Pro, it doesn't have a tactical holster which is a bummer.

Nice flashlight. It's pretty big and fits snugly into its black tactical holster. The phone charger is nice. I'm not sure why it has the weapon mount but that's OK. The light is very bright. I wish that the tactical holster were in a bright color (red, or orange or even sand) because black makes it disappear in dark places. It's kind of heavy. The rechargeable batteries are not readily available over the counter.

California wild fires keep causing power outages. Quick and easy emergency lamp. Also use it camping instead of my Coleman LP lantern.

Works well

First off. Initial presentation is excellent. Packaging is that of a high dollar electronic device. Light is obviously made with quality materials and it comes with all the accessories one would desire. Needless to say, it is SUPER bright. Which is why I wanted it. I’d definitely recommend it to others based on my initial evaluations to this point. I’ve only had it a short period and can’t speak on longevity but my DANFORCE headlamp lasted quite a long while.

The modular system works well to unscrew and the light is super bright. The parts fit together nicely and in it's largest mode, it has some good heft to it. The only issues I have is I would like a light on or off button on the side of the light and that the USB charger on the back is a little flimsy. The battery charger itself has some overly aggressive springs in it and I've already shot the batteries across the room when I brushed by it.

Overall a solid flashlight with a company that stands behind their product. I received mine from my wife as b-day gift back in February. I was very impressed with what came with the G1. Also, they have great customer service. Recently I had an issue and I emailed them. They sent out a new one right away with no run-around BS.Items I like:It has a solid build / weight to it.The option of 2 sizes & 2 bezels. The lumen ratings are accurate. I tested with a light meter & a homemade test rig (PVC piping). Using known 1000 & 1500 lumen Bushnell flashlights as my standards.The batteries mAh ratings are real. Tested with my charger / tester and they were very close to their ratings. Personal note; I find that flashlight’s lumens & battery’s mAhs ratings to be the most exaggerated / lied about by some sellers...The lantern attachment is awesome, it’s like having a bright light bulb in your hands!The carrying case is very nice and convenient too.OK Items:The power bank, battery charger, compass, bike mount and the red & green lens. It’s not that they’re bad, I just don’t find myself using them a lot.Needs Improvement:The rubber USB flap on the flashlight for charging. That thing pops open to easily / often. A helpful tip to resolve this, wrap black electrical tape around it. The tape can easily be removed if needed and the width is perfect.Overall I would recommend this flashlight to buy or give to someone as a gift... Neat design, lots of options. Not as bright as an olight or demonfire flashlight. Wish it had a better bulb (brighter). cust service stinks. Issue with the batteries labels came off upon removing packaging. Took almost a week to respond. Asked for replacement and sent photo nothing since. Also it is made in China!

Pretty cool multi functional flashlight. I haven't really tested it yet so I'll be back to update this review.I have to start with that I'm a bit wacky when it comes to flashlights, some reason I have to keep buying ones that I see so take that into mind if you read this. With that said:This is a very well made, especially when you take into account that this is a modular flashlight. Which equals many parts, screwing and unscrewing, different lenses, attachments, and on and on. It's very bright, well balanced, not excessively heavy. It was all pretty easy to figure out even if you dont read all of the instructions. I guess you could call this the fidget spinner of flashlights. If you get bored with one application then just change it up and your good to go.Oh and one more thing, this can be used as a charging device but you must only do that with one of the batteries. Do not use both batteries and try to charge a precious electronic or you'll be sorry!!Ok that's it for now. Be back soon

Awesome tactical light with many uses. Covers all your daily needs. Find yourself using this in every situation that life throws at you. EDC, emergencies, tactical applications, professions and outdoor adventurist.Mounted on a AR15 and functioned flawlessly.

I've got mine today, opening the package I was amuse to straight away see the case instead of the box, everything is in there... opens and close not a problem, so all good.

I gave this to my husband as his last flahshlight died on him recently. He absolutely loved this. It comes with a nice case to store it in is rechargeable instead of using the batteries like his old one and it's really bright and actually illuminates a good distance in front of you. He's been using it a lot already to look for things in the garage, outside at night, in the car, and has plans to take it with him when he goes camping and fishing in the summer.

The flash won’t turn one

This flashlight is so versatile and really cool! It has so many options to interchange it between. It can be used as a small or large flashlight as well as a lantern. It comes with red and green lenses to change the color of the light too. I can charge my phone with it in a pinch as well. The brightness is adjustable as well as the span of the light beam. It can be made narrow or wide. I like that it also does S.O.S and strobe too. It's super lightweight and comes with an organized zippered carry case. The case is hard sided and very protective too. It comes with 2 rechargeable batteries and they last a long time on a full charge. There's also a compass cap and a bike mount as well. They've thought of everything in this kit and I would highly highly recommend it! Its top notch and I feel it's a great value for the money! 5 stars!

Only time will tell if everything we love about this light holds up but we have no reason to believe otherwise . What we like about the light ? Everything . Now for our dislike. We actually cant say anything negative because we haven't found anything negative or a dislike.I did (because I'm a little clumsy and 6mos. Down the road im gonna notiice i it )put a rubberband around the rubber chrging plug insert to help keep in place. I know that if there is a way to disconnect, pull off or otherwise lose something that keeps out dirt,water etc. Im goin to. And it wouldn't happen durin the day or in good light .If or when i did break ,pull off and or lose, it would be after dark ,in the mud with little or no ambient light . I dont think this is a product problem i think it is a "i kno myself well enuf by now " solution to a me problem.

This flashlight is so epic. It lights up...everything. I mean, not quite, but it's the most powerful flashlight I've ever owned. It shines such a wide beam so far. It's perfect for camping--can do night hikes with no fear. This is in my camping kit now and I'm in love with it.

They thought of everything when they created this flashlight! It is super bright too! My friend buys the flashlights that cost over $300 for his work and was so jealous that my DanForce G1 flashlight is brighter, more convenient, has many more different parts and even charges my iPhone! I love this flashlight and love the fact that everything is kept safe and sound in the nice case it come with!

My husband loved it! He's very hard on his flashlights and we have spent a small fortune replacing them. So far did she run is holding its own against my husband. I love two straps they keep him from dropping them and they're very heavy duty. I was also very impressed with the customer service. I received an email the day my package was delivered asking if everything was shipped okay or if there was anything they could do to help. It's very important to me to be treated with respect and Carolina did just that. She made me feel my business was important and I really really like that. So far I have no complaints at all and I don't see myself having any in the future either. Thank you Dan Forrest they're finally giving my husband a flashlight he can hang onto for a while.

Used on a shotgun for a light when hunting beaver, works great!

So far been using it whenever i need a light and its been amazing as a lantern in the backyard as we relax by pool under an umbrella and charge your phone for music or to walk the dogs or just gettimg the mail.

Review of DanForce G1: Patented Tactical FlashlightThis model came with several accessories some of which are used to reconfigure the flashlight. The simple options are a belt clip, lanyard, wrist strap and compass. Once the small cord is threaded through the designated hole the lanyard and wrist strap can easily be swapped. The wrist strap can be tightened to help ensure that it will not slip off the wrist.There are also some assembly related options that may require a little more pre-planning:• One or two battery mode requiring the removal of the Compass and Endcap from the Body Extension, eventually moving the End Cap from the Main Body of the flashlight to the Body Extension and threading the two sections together.• Red or green lens filters which require removing the Orange Ring and/or Tactical Head to insert the filter and then reinstall.• There is also a Diffuser Cap that can be used to make this function more as a lamp.• Bike mount (I did not use this).It also comes with a charger for the batteries and USB cable but does not include a plug to connect to A/C.Batteries are supposed to be charged either in the charger where two can be charged simultaneously or one battery at a time in either the Main Body or the Body Extension.Either of two end caps are used with the Body Extension. One is to use to control the flashlight when attached to the Main Body and the other has USB A and microUSB ports to allow charging a battery or using as a power bank with LED to indicate charging status meaning that this section is separated from the Main Body.The flashlight is operated from the tail switches with a long press to turn on/off and shorter press to toggle modes between High, Medium, Low, Eco 10%, A strobe or an SOS. The beam can be zoomed which really is a mirror trick to increase and decrease how wide the beam spreads and therefore both how much light is focused on a given area and how wide a swath will be illuminated.Initial charge of batteries in the charger took a bit over 6 hours. Be careful when loading the batteries into the charger. The springs get pulled back a bit and if a battery shoots out it can travel a foot or two potentially hitting something or someone and the batteries have enough mass to cause some discomfort or a little bit of damage with fragile items or knocking something over.Because there are so many removable parts that have to be stored a soft clamshell zippered case is provided with the bottom section for the Main Body of the flashlight, Diffuser and Body Extension and in the upper there is a zipper mesh pouch to hold everything else. Case is approximately 4.75 x 9.75 x 3.5 inches (12.1 x 24.8 x 8.9 cm).Comes packaged in a fairly stout box which then has its own cover and then encased in a sleeve.Overall length is about 10.25 inches (26 cm) in the two battery configuration and 7.6 inches (19.3 cm) in the single battery configuration. The diameter is a little less than I expected but given the obviously amount of consideration and research I am sure that this represents the best combination of what the larger population would like taking also into account weight and cost. The diameter where one will usually hold the flashlight is 1.125 inches (2.9 cm).Materials of construction seem pretty tough with majority of flashlight being listed as aircraft grade aluminum. Also listed as IPX45 but I cannot find a specific definition or explanation of this as the “X” can indicate that some condition is not rated.Tested all modes in one and two battery configurations and works as described and is very bright.

Very well made, you know quality when you see it and this is quality would buy again because it is very hard to find things made like this.

Can't beat these for the money

This is hands down the best flash light I have seen in my life. If you need a flash light in your car, truck, RV or in your emergency kit. This is as good as it gets. This is the last flash light you buy in your life. It's so strong I think my grands kids might have it to use in there life time LOL. It has every you need to run it and is had a phone charger a + for emergency kit use.

This is a very well put together system. I do agree that the packaging seems to be overkill and could be made more simplified and pass those savings to the customer. The focus would be much better if it were a screw system and looks like the body of the flashlight is made for it. I believe that when mounted on a weapon, the recoil will cause the focus to change between shoots unless you're using it on a smaller cartridge.To finish on the positive, this light system is really cool! I would buy it again and definitely will recommend this to my friends.

Easy to convert to different modes and functions.

Order was placed and received quickly.On opening the box found the battery's out of round.A few e mails exchanged and problem was taken care of above and beyond what was expected with more than satisfied as well as generous results.First part of testing was home use and it is a general all around more than powerful not to long in length with the 1 battery set up that can go into tight areas such and refrigerator compressor compartment as well as a great pocket back up or working light that will not weigh you down due to size and weight when in the attic or under the house crawl space. Experience has taught me to take 2 lights when in crawl spaces in case one fails.A non intentionally drop test from a 7 foot height didn't even scratch it or damage it.It did put a nick on my oak floors that I can live with due to the tactical ring that came in the kit.So far over all this G 1 flashlight and kit is passing the home use test, small tough and with the kit able to do what is listed.Due to circumstances like Corona COVID 19 I have not tested the limits of this flashlight in construction and the service side of work in Los Angeles CA.Had this not happened I would have already tested it in a real service / construction site use where they are abused due to work conditions.About the only thing I would look for once I order the G1 and receive it are the batteries.Wish list and willing to purchase as extras are as follows if made in the future.A good quality belt holder to hold the G1 and a spare batteryCombo G1 flashlight and good quality head gear adjustable head light that is interchangeable battery pack clipped to the belt with extra battery spare's and charger ready with the G1Some type of magnetic bracket to hold the flashlight when working on one spot such as electrical panels would be something I can use for my application at work.Rubber protection inserts that can provide some protection from electrical and impact when dropped on floors.Larger hole on the attachment for the lanyard as well as a larger diameter attachment.Overall DanForce G1 has my attention of a quality investment that is worthy of my business and purchase investment.EDCV Los Angeles California

I received my lights a little over a week ago and really like it.I use one every night walking

I am a salesman and have to use high quality gear to inspect client's attics and crawlspaces. I used to purchase the Duracell 1500 lumen flashlight but those kept dying on me even with new batteries. The light itself gives a wide viewing area in the dark crawlspaces I have to inspect. The accessories were great except the holster for the flashlight came apart after only 3 months of using it; however, this company, DAN FORCE, gave me excellent customer service, responded immediately to my inquiry about a getting a replacement holster. They went above and beyond my expectations of replacing it. I will definitely be using this company to purchase any related items that I may need in the future.

Well as the pictures show...It comes in a great looking retail type box..Then when you open it you find a very nicely thought out carry case for the light...all of its accessories and charger.It has red and green filters...Optional cell phone charger adapter...Compass a diffuser/wand a belt clip...Wrist band that is adjustable and quick release...The battery charger will do 2 18650 batteries at a time and is micro USB powered so convenient for cell phone users who are not apple folks. It also has the ability to separate and use one part as a charger or to charge a battery while you use the other one...and can be charged while batteries are in or out.There is also a bike mount....that looked like it will work ok...for a while. I have no use for it so not upset about its lower standard....it just isn't as solid and long lasting a design as the rest and looks ummmmmm well cheap...the rubber strap that holds the light does make it convenient for quick on and quick off, but will definitely be the 1st thing to fail from my experience. I wish they had done a nice solid aluminum quick release design and just used the rubber for padding so that neither the light nor the bike got scratched.It is bright....like a good tactical light...I have others that cost less and are brighter by quite a bit...and I have one that is very much brighter like 3x but is not adjustable.That said the overall package and abilities this light brings more than make up for the difference in brightness.For many folks this will be the BRIGHTEST flashlight they own. Unless they are a flashlight nerd like me.Any way you look at it this is still a really cool light and I will update the review if anything fails or opinions change or something doesn't live up to its hype.

I got the G1 Pro. I Got this light to bowfish, hunt, camp, survival gear.The batteries were hardly charged so I dont yet know full power of the light. But as of right now it is awesome. Well made and worth the money. The amount of items that come with the light is awesome. Everything is well made and feels good in the hand. Will run my own tests on the light and update in due time.Update.The scope mount did not fit any point of the flashlight. Will have to get a different mount to make it work.
